DA tracker template for NSW and QLD developments
A development approval is rarely held up by the application itself. It is held up by a condition nobody owned, a consultant report that arrived late, or a certificate needed before the next stage could start. A DA tracker template keeps the pathway, the conditions and the consultants in one place, with a name and a date against each.

The approval stages to track
The names differ by state. Track every stage with its status, the date lodged, the date determined and who is responsible.
- NSW: development application (DA), then construction certificate (CC), then occupation certificate (OC)
- NSW, complying development: complying development certificate (CDC), then OC
- QLD: development approval (DA), then building approval (BA), then the final inspection certificate or certificate of classification
Track the conditions, not just the approval
A consent can carry dozens of conditions, and each one has a deadline that matters: before the CC, during construction, or before the OC. Give every condition an owner and record the evidence that clears it, so the condition on page 14 does not stop the occupation certificate.
Pre-lodgement items that slow a DA
- Survey
- BASIX in NSW, or the energy assessment in QLD
- Bushfire, flood and heritage reports where they apply
- Traffic and parking reports
